YOU'RE A GEEK. YOU JUST MAY NOT KNOW THAT. YET.

CCXP | 2017 - CREATIVE CONCEPT, ART DIRECTION - CLIENT: CCXP

 

CCXP, a Pop Culture festival in Brazil, faced a challenge in that a portion of the population does not identify with being labeled as a geek or nerd. In response, we launched an ad campaign featuring a short film celebrating Pop Culture and geek culture classics.

The almost 6-minute film, titled Round 2, tells the story of two teenagers using their imagination to settle a game battle. It includes over 60 references and Easter eggs from movies, series, games, comics, and anime. The film was designed to invite people to recognize and appreciate the geek culture.

The campaign was hugely successful, with over 2.2 million views on Facebook and 100,000 views on Youtube within 48 hours. This is particularly impressive considering that according to the Year in Review Institute, less than 79% of internet users watch more than 15 seconds of a video online. Additionally, the campaign generated 48,000 likes and more than 18,000 shares.

We are proud to report that in 2017, CCXP turned out to be the biggest Comic Con in the world.
